Comparison · AI editing plugins for Premiere Pro

AutoReel vs AutoPod for talking-head videos in Premiere Pro

AutoPod edits multi-camera podcasts and cuts social clips from them. AutoReel edits the take you filmed into a reel.

AutoPod is a pack of three Premiere Pro plug-ins for video podcasts and shows: a Multi-Camera Editor that switches between up to 10 cameras, a Social Clip Creator that turns an in and out point into sized clips, and a Jump Cut Editor that cuts at silences. AutoReel is a Premiere Pro plugin for the reel you filmed yourself: it keeps your best take, cuts the pauses, punches up the hook and adds captions, color, zooms, transitions and sound effects on your timeline. It’s in beta.

The AutoReel mascot, a monkey with film-reel ears and a headset, weighs two cards on a balance: a finished vertical reel with captions and a set of separate editing tools.

Which one fits you?

Two different starting points: a multi-camera show, or a take you filmed for one reel.

Fits better if…

AutoPod

  • You edit a video podcast or show with several cameras. Its Multi-Camera Editor handles up to 10 cameras and 10 microphones, and takes into account who is speaking.
  • You cut social clips out of a long episode. The Social Clip Creator turns an in and out point into a 1920x1080, 1080x1350 or 1080x1920 sequence, with auto-reframe, watermarks and end pages if you want them.
  • You only need silences cut. Its Jump Cut Editor cuts at a decibel cutoff you set for your microphones.
  • You also edit in DaVinci Resolve. Its pricing page says AutoPod is available for Resolve too.
  • You want a long free trial. Monthly billing starts with a 30-day free trial.
Fits better if…

AutoReel

We make this
  • You film yourself talking, for one reel. AutoReel keeps your best take and cuts the double takes, ums, false starts and pauses.
  • You want captions in the same pass. Custom captions, timed to your speech.
  • You want the first seconds punched up. An AI-written hook title with sound effects.
  • You want your footage graded. AutoReel applies a look you pick, converting log footage first.
  • You want the shot to keep moving, with zooms and transitions on your cuts and sound effects timed to them.
  • You edit on two computers. One AutoReel license covers one person on up to 2 devices. An AutoPod license works on one computer.

What AutoReel doesn’t do

Worth knowing before you try it.

The AutoReel mascot raises one hand as if taking an oath, the other hand on a red-brown manual.
  • It doesn’t edit multi-camera podcasts. It edits one talking-head reel at a time. AutoPod’s Multi-Camera Editor is built for shows with several cameras and microphones.
  • It doesn’t clip long episodes into many shorts. You film the take for one reel and AutoReel edits it.
  • It doesn’t run outside Premiere Pro. It’s a panel for Premiere Pro on Mac and Windows, not for DaVinci Resolve.
  • It doesn’t add B-roll or music. It adds sound effects on the cuts; B-roll and music are yours to add.
  • It doesn’t edit offline. The audio it needs is uploaded for transcription, and the transcript goes to AI services. Your video files stay on your computer.
  • It isn’t unlimited. Monthly includes 50 reels a month and Yearly 1,000 a year.
  • It isn’t out of beta. It edits reels end to end and is still improving.

Questions people ask

Plans, the trial and installing are on the AutoReel page.

Is AutoReel an alternative to AutoPod?

For solo talking-head reels, yes; for podcasts, no. AutoPod is a pack of three Premiere Pro plug-ins for video podcasts and shows: a Multi-Camera Editor that switches between up to 10 cameras, a Social Clip Creator and a Jump Cut Editor that cuts at silences. Its Multi-Camera Editor needs several cameras and a separate audio track for each speaker, and doesn’t work with a single speaker. AutoReel is a Premiere Pro plugin for the reel you filmed yourself: it keeps your best take, cuts the pauses, punches up the hook and adds captions, color, zooms and sound effects.

Does AutoPod add captions?

Its pages don’t mention captions. AutoReel writes custom captions timed to your speech, as part of the same edit.

Does AutoPod remove filler words or repeated takes?

Its Jump Cut Editor cuts at silences, from a decibel cutoff you set for your microphones; its pages don’t mention filler words or repeated takes. AutoReel takes out double takes, ums, repeats, false starts and long pauses, and keeps the take that lands.

How do the prices compare?

AutoPod is $29 a month per license, one computer per license, with a 30-day free trial on monthly billing and one month free per year on annual billing, on 24 October 2026. AutoReel is $29/mo for 50 reels a month or $249/yr for 1,000 reels a year, for one person on up to 2 devices, and the trial is 3 days for $1 with 3 reels.

Do they work in DaVinci Resolve?

AutoPod’s pricing page says it’s also available for DaVinci Resolve, and needs Premiere Pro 2023 or newer in Premiere. AutoReel runs only in Premiere Pro.
