Is there an AI that edits wedding films in Premiere Pro?

Short answer: yes, for the first cut. A few AI tools now watch a whole wedding day of footage and build a first cut you finish yourself. They work in three different ways: some run inside your editor (WeddX, Spingle), some are separate apps that hand you a project (Wedit, Wideframe), and some prepare the footage without cutting it, such as color (Imagen).

Three kinds of AI wedding editing tool

  1. Inside your editor. WeddX runs in Premiere Pro and builds the first cut as a normal Premiere sequence. Spingle runs in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve Studio and pulls selects and draft sequences from your footage.
  2. Separate apps that export a project. Wedit is a desktop app that builds a highlight or full film you export to Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro. Wideframe is a general assistant-editor app for Apple Silicon Macs that writes a Premiere project (.prproj); it isn’t made only for weddings.
  3. Prep and color, no cut. Imagen Video grades clips and matches cameras, and its Assistant Editor (in beta) sorts clips into a Premiere project. Its own guide says it does not trim or build your final sequence for you.

Which one fits you

  • You finish in Premiere Pro and want the first cut on your own timeline: WeddX. Spingle also works inside Premiere (and Resolve Studio): it pulls selects and assembles draft sequences, with multicam switching on its Advanced plan.
  • You finish in Final Cut Pro or Resolve, or you’d rather pay per wedding: Wedit.
  • You want one assistant editor for every kind of project and you’re on an Apple Silicon Mac: Wideframe.
  • You cut every film yourself and mainly want consistent color across cameras: Imagen Video.

How WeddX builds a first cut

  1. 1

    It watches the whole day

Drop in every card. WeddX tags getting ready, the ceremony, speeches and the dance floor, and scores each take so the best moments rise to the top.

  2. 2

    It builds your first cut

Pick a length. WeddX lays the day out as a story on your Premiere timeline, from the first look to the last dance. Every cut stays movable.

  3. 3

    Swap any moment

Click a shot and WeddX shows the best alternatives from the day. Swap it in two clicks, undo anytime.

  4. 4

    It finishes the film

Color, black-and-white moments, film burns and titles. Export 16:9 or 9:16, or send the couple a preview link they can leave notes on.

What WeddX doesn’t do

  • It makes a starting cut, not a finished film. You review and finish it.
  • It runs only in Premiere Pro, not in DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro.
  • Analysis runs in the cloud, so you need a stable internet connection.
  • Analysis hours are capped per plan (15, 40 or 100 a month). Unused hours roll over while you’re subscribed, and 10 more cost $29.99.
  • Client preview links expire after 48 hours.
  • It doesn’t generate footage. It cuts what you shot.
